Elmer Jefferson Rouse

Elmer Jefferson Rouse of Lancaster, CA. was born on September 11, 1914 in Dill City OK to Albert and Mattie Rouse. He left this life to be with the Lord on February 5, 2012. He was preceeded in death by Mozelle Collier Rouse, his wife of 36 years in October 1971, and Opal Plowman Rouse, his wife of 28 years in December 2007. He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Wright of Bakersfield CA, three grandchildren, Robin Tyler of Greenville SC, Lora Wilson of Gaffney SC and Jeffrey Wright of WA. He had one great grandaughter, Heather Tyler of SC. He had three step children, Stephen Plowman of Savannah GA, Ellouise Bryant of Lancaster CA and Berna Deane Clem of Edmond OK.

Rev. Rouse was an ordained minister of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. He began a life of dedication to ministry at the young age of 15 when he became a deacon in his local church and secretary of the youth group. He graduated from Holmes Bible College of Greenville, South Carolina in 1941. He pastored churches in South Carolina, Oklahoma and California including, Modesto, Pacific Beach, North Hollywood, Lawndale, Santa Paula, San Martin and Palmdale.

He had a long life of service to the Lord and leaves a host of people who loved him and remember his dedication and kindness. Only heaven will reveal the lives he touched during his lifetime.

Rev. Rouse will be buried in Santa Maria, CA.
