Elmo was born on May 18, 1920 and passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009.

Elmo was a resident of White Stone, Virginia at the time of passing.

Mr. Jackson was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army Air Force. A very special duty during his service time was his assignment as the security and transportation chief for President Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin during the summit in Cairo, Egypt that marked the close of World War II. He was also honored to have received a personal thanks from each of them. He was a member of Kilmarnock Post 86 of the American Legion serving as chaplain for a number of years.

Elmo was married to Mary.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 23 at Irvington Baptist Church, Irvington with Rev. John H. Farmer officiating. Interment will in the church cemetery. Friends may call 6 8 p.m. Monday at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
