Elouise Smith Bruce, 81, of Cleveland died Friday, February 26, 2010 at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Weaver, assisted by Rev. Jim Bruce. Burial will follow in North Cleveland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bruce was born on February 9, 1929 to Tom Smith and Ora Belle Slayton Smith. She attended school in Pace and worked at the sewing factory in Drew and Gold Star Market in Cleveland. She married John Bruce on July 10, 1949.
Survivors include her husband John Bruce of Cleveland; three daughters, Wanda Arbogast of Greenville; Teresa Moses of Ruleville; Pat Hodges of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Billy Smith of Quitman; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Timmy Hodges, Bill Moses, Charles Arbogast, A.W. Parks, Blake Moon and Allen Palmer.
