Elsie M Dobson Obituary


Elsie M. Dobson, 83, of Dornsife, passed away Wednesday morning at Sun Home Hospice Respite Center in Sunbury, PA. She was born September 7, 1926 in Dalmatia, PA, the daughter of the late Francis and Ellen (Dreibelbis) Michael.

On July,1, 1944, she married Andrew Dobson, who preceded her in death in 1966. She was a 1944 graduate of Dalmatia High School. After she raised her children, she had a career as a seamstress at Dalmatia Mfg and retired in 1996 from Lebro's Mfg in Lykens, PA. She was an auxiliary member of Legion post 504 in Herndon for over 30 years.

Elise loved spending time with her family. She was the matriarch of the family and when she talked, her family listened. She enjoyed sewing, doing crossword puzzles, watching baseball and soap operas. She was a great cook. She made the best macaroni and cheese.

She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Gary and Teresa Dobson of Donsife, Roger and Theresa Dobson of Dalmatia, Scott Dobson of Bahama, NC. By two daughters and thier spoused, Carolyn and Dennis Mull of Dornsife and Rita Dobson and Marlin Troutman of Shamokin along with a daughter-in -law, Tonna Dobson of Herndon.

She loved her grandchildren, Roger Dobson, Jr and wife Kathy, Christina Mull and her Fiance, Kevin Schaeffer, Thomas Mull and his Fiance, Jennifer Huntsinger, Brook Dobson and her friend Randy Flynn, Jason and Amy Wendt, Jeremy and Tammy Wendt, Andrew and Emily Dobson, Charity Dobson, Crystal and Antonio Lopez and Chelsea Dobson, along with seven great-grandchildren, Chad and Brianna Dobson, Daniel Lopez, Evan, Ethan, and Jaden Wendt, and Ella Mull.

She was preceded in death by a beloved son, Dennis Dobson, who passed away October 12, 2009; one brother, Robert Michael and four sisters, Rachael Reigel, Miriam Lahr, Mabel Rebuck, and Pauline Klock.

Friends will be received at James A Reed Funeral Home in Pillow, PA, on Saturday, November 28 from 10-11AM. A memorial service will follow, also at the funeral home, with Rev Glen B. Keidel officiating. Internment will be at the Herndon Cemetery, Herndon.
