MOUNT OLIVE -- Emily Davis Hall, 76, of East Main Street, died early Sunday morning, February 14, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday night, February 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Harrison officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 6 p.m., and at other times at her residence. Committal and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, in Maplewood Cemetery.
Known as "Nannie" to her family and closest friends, she was the daughter of the late Bud and Carrie Rogers Davis, having grown up in the Long Ridge Church area near Mount Olive. Her working career included being a clerk/cashier at the former Hall's Grocery in Mount Olive, and at several area sewing factories, as well as being a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She was the widow of Gurman Hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Hall Wiggins of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Dawn Deal Sutton and husband, Lloyd Sutton, Jr. of Mount Olive, and Jamie Ricks of Ahoskie; two great-grandchildren, Knowlt Sutton and Zylea Sutton, both of Mount Olive; a sister, Lina D. Pate and husband, Steve "Dink" Pate of Mount Olive; two brothers, Elton Ray Davis and wife, Teresa Davis, and J. Michael "Mike" Davis and wife, Bernice Davis, all of Mount Olive, along with their families.
Flowers are welcome; however, memorial gifts are requested to be made to Long Ridge FWB Church Relay for Life, c/o M. Davis, 182 Jeff Outlaw Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
