Emily V. Elliott Phillips, 82, passed away August 3, 2010, at a local hospital surrounded by family. She was an active member of Heritage Community Church. She is survived by her husband, Fred Phillips; two sons, Larry Elliott, Sr. and wife Barbara of Williamsburg, VA and Jerome Elliott of Chesapeake, VA; two daughters, Phyllis Swanson and Robin Fie and husband Steve, all of Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren, Larry Jr., Adam, Tony, Justin, Casey, Stacie, Tara and Christian; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Quillie Clark of South Boston, VA; a brother, Hoyt Martin of Chesapeake, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 1st husband, James E. Elliott; and daughter, Betty Jo Elliott. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel with Pastor Asa Lowe officiating. The burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at snellingsfuneralhome.com.
