Eric Max Goers, age 19, of Menomonie, WI died at home on Sunday, August 12, 2012.

Eric was born May 14, 1993. He lived the first eight years of his life in Norway, Iowa, spent the next two years on a family boat adventure, and has been a Menomonie resident since 2003.

He is survived by his father and mother, Richard and Denise (Glosser) Goers; grandparents, Joann Glosser, Charlotte Goers-Nevin and David Nevin; aunts and uncle, Kim and Dean Thompson and Pamela Goers.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Richard Goers and Neil Glosser.

Eric was set to begin his sophomore year at Michigan Technological University as a civil engineering major interested in railroad transportation. He was a Menomonie swim instructor for the past two summers. Eric was a loving, caring and dependable person. His loves were football, swimming, music and trains. His future was bright and the world will be short one less "good guy".

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rob MacDougall officiating.

Memorials will be used to start a scholarship in Eric's memory.
