Erma Plachy (nee Biliczky), Beloved wife of the late James W. Plachy; mother of Bill, wife Kathy (Uhler), and Susan, partner Walt Loring; adoring grandmother of MJ and Suzanne. Aunt of Carol Biliczky Levandoski, Joan Menhenett, Paul and Diane Menhenett; sister-in-law of Rose Biliczky and Don Menhenett; cousin of Marie (Jackson) Rautzen and Robert and Nancy Rautzen; great-aunt of Caroline Menhenett and Jamie (Biliczky) and husband Adam Carter; great-great aunt of Gage Carter. Erma was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Agnes (Palicsko) Biliczky, brothers Ralph and wife Kay and Charles, nephew Bruce and wife Linda Biliczky, niece Joyce Biliczky and sister-in-law Margaret (Plachy) Menhenett, along with in-laws, James and Wilma (Lendel) Plachy and Gizella (Fiala) Plachy, and cousin James Rautzen. Local bridge players will either miss Erma as a steady, competent partner or a determined opponent. The Aqua Dames swim group and Smiley Face Red Hat Ladies were also favorite activities for Erma, along with women's and mixed bowling leagues and women's golf leagues in her younger days. An avid reader, Erma also enjoyed many evenings at the Cleveland Play House and other theatrical venues. Residents surrounding Fern Hollow in Glenmont, OH were special friends. Many around Perry, ME will miss Erma's annual visit, as will friends from Venice, FL. The family is particularly grateful to Erma's newest friend, therapy dog Hahnah and owner Bill. For the past seven years Bernadette Glenn, along with her daughter Tamara Jones and grandsons Craig and Eric have been best friends and local family with Erma. At Erma's request, there will be no visitation or funeral, with private burial. There is a memorial gathering on December 21, 2011 at Carrie Cerino's Restaurant, 8922 Ridge Road, North Royalton at 12 noon. All who knew Erma are welcomed. Those who wish may contribute in Erma's memory to the American Cancer Society, Cleveland Metroparks, or Regina Projects, Regina Health Center, 5253 Broadview Road, Richfield, OH 44286, attn: Sr. Donna Mikula. Almost three years ago, while leaving a beauty shop on her 91st birthday, Erma was wished many, many, many, many more happy birthdays. She turned on her cane and walked right up to that well-meaning stranger. "Oh no," she said, "That would be greedy." "I always thought if I could see my children grow up, anything else would be gravy." "And I've had a lot of gravy." "When my time comes, I'll be ready to go." When Erma went, it was gently, quietly and with great beauty.
