OSBORNE, Ernest L., Jr. "Ozzie", 87, of Highland Springs, VA passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Burnley Slater Osborne and Ernest L. Osborne, Sr.; son-in-law, Jean LeLay "John".
He proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army in the European Theater of Operations. Ozzie was an honorary member and Past Master of the Sandston Masonic Lodge #216, A.F. & A.M., Past District Deputy Grand Master District 15-B, Past Grand Purveyor Grand Lodge of VA, Past Wise Master Knights Rose Croix Richmond Scottish Rite Masons, Past Worthy Patron Montrose Chapter #76, O.E.S., Eagle Scout with Gold, Silver & Bronze Psalms, BSA since 1938. Ozzie was a a member of Corinth Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Peggy Ann Osborne; daughters, Gayle Thompson, Karen LeLay, Terri Regali (Frank), Deborah Henderson (Rob); sister, Jeanne Kesler (George "Bud"); step-son, Michael Mays; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; loving companion, Mr. Boots the cat.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28 from 4 – 8 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral service will be held in the Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 29 at 2 PM. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park. A reception will be held at The Reception Center, 4660 S. Laburnum Avenue following interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Sandston Square Club Building Corporation, 40C West Williamsburg Road, Sandston, VA 23150.
