Ernest R. Carter, Sr. 83, of Parsippany but formerly of Port Murray, NJ passed away on March 12th at St. Claire Hospital, Denville, NJ. Born in Morristown, he was the son of the late Johnson and Emma (Tucker) Carter.

Mr. Carter worked as a chauffeur at AT&T Bell Laboratories, now Alcatel-Lucent, before retiring.

Mr. Carter was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Port Murray where he served as a Deacon.

Mr. Carter was the husband of Dorothy J. (Jenkins) Carter.

In addition to this wife, survivors include his son Ernest, Jr. of Venice, FL; his daughter Carol Jean of Washington, NJ; his sister Dorothy M. of Morristown, NJ and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
