Ernie S. Carleton, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away December, 29, 2011 at Liberty Hospital.
Born to Jesse V. and Carrie B. Carleton on October 10, 1925 in Norton, Kansas. Ernie was a Teamster and retired from Graham Ship by Truck after 32 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of WW II serving in the South Pacific.
Ernie was "Dusty" the Clown for many years entertaining the kids with tying balloons. He worked with the Lakeside Nature Center rehabilitating animals. He was a long time member of Bethel United Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Vickie Germer, grandson, Joseph Carleton; and 8 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sallie L.; son, Michael (Marilynn); sister, Nancy Orr (Charlie); son-in-law, Joseph Germer; granddaughter, Tiffany Tubbs (Kyle); great granddaughter, Sierra Rose Tubbs; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are set for 11 AM Monday January 2, 2012 at White Chapel Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday January 1 at the funeral home. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Shepherd Center of the Northland, Bethel United Church of Christ, or Lakeside Nature Center.
