Mrs. Ernestine Ernie Cookson

Ernestine "Ernie" Cookson, age 83, passed away October 7, 2011 in St. Petersburg, FL. She was born on June 25, 1928 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Sammie and Lorine Jones. She graduated from Columbus High School, Columbus, IN in 1946. She married the love of her life, Donald L. Cookson, in Columbus on May 29, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1978. Ernie worked in the St. Petersburg area for many years, building a successful career in real estate. She is survived by her son, Vernon (Jane) Cookson of Indianapolis, IN and 2 grandchildren, Jason of Carmel, IN and Ashley of Indianapolis. A sister, Erdine Ross, of Stuart, FL also survives. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, St Petersburg on October 29, 2011. Memorial contributions should be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
