My father, Ernie Gagaza, was born on December 5th, 1956 in Manila, Philippines. He grew up as the second to the youngest of 7 siblings of my grandparents, Fabian and Ana. He married my mom in 1977, had me the next year, and together, we moved to the US in 1980. He worked many years in the hotel and hospitality industry as a bartender and banquet server where his charismatic personality allowed him to excel.

He lived the later part of his life in Orlando, FL where he still did many of the things he enjoyed in SF- his active lifestyle, playing basketball, jogging and bike riding. Our family enjoyed his yearly visits home very much. He was always the life of the party, had the greatest sense of humor, even to the very end, and had a humbleness and charisma about him that everyone was drawn to.

He is survived by 1 loving daughter, 2 grandchildren, 6 siblings and many extended family members and friends. We have a hole in our hearts because of his loss and he will be greatly missed, but he will never be forgotten.
