Another time when I was eight Dad accidently backed over my bike crushing it because I left it in the driveway behind his truck, and he went and got me another one because Mom said "he thought I would be disappointed finding it all crumbled up." Dad showed tremendous love for his family but he also disciplined us when we needed it, we always knew where we stood. I realized how much he cared as a teenager when I came home late one night and Dad was up waiting and praying for my saftey. I also remember when I was a young mother and had three littler one's at home and he went to the store and waited in a long line up to buy me a slow cooker, he said with a big smile on his face "I want to get this for you because I know you'll need it, I still use that slow cooker often, it's been at least 20 years, what a blessing, thank you Dad for being so genuine, one day we'll see you again, I love and miss you so much!

Dad: I miss you so much already and you haven't been gone too long. You will always have a special place in my heart because you were truly a wonderful, loving dad. Thank you for raising me up to be an honest and respectable person. Your love for the Lord was shown every day of my life and I thank you for that. One thing I will miss when coming to visit you is your pet peeve name for me "Judy Bug" and everytime I would see you-- You would remind me of how much I looked like your mother.

Dad, I know how much you loved your family it was obvious in the way you lived your life. I'll never forget how you would get down on the floor and let the grandkids ride "Horsey" on your back. Your grandkids mean't the world to you and they loved you for it. I will miss your sense of humour and a joke you often told, "Life is like a monkey with his tail caught in a lawnmower-- it's getting shorter all the time".

You are home now, a place you have longed to be; with your loved ones in heaven, resting peacefully. I will always love you dad and your presence will always be near. Thank you for being my father.

We have loving memories of Ervin. He was such a kind-hearted, generous man. His love for His Lord and Savior was shown by his care for others, his friends, his workers, and any one in need, his special love for Dorothy and his children. Growing up together with the Henderson family, we have so many fond memories, stopping by the Dairy Queen on Broadway after Gospel meeting, or going to the one by their house, he always made sure you had a big enough treat. There were the picnics in the mountains, usually Doc Longs, when he would bring great big watermelons and bottles of soda to put in the stream to get cold,and you could have a whole bottle of pop if you wanted and then a HUGE slice of watermelon. Ervin and Dorothy made everyone feel welcome in their home, putting up with Duane teasing him about his speeding tickets in his boat, and he would still invite you to come fishing with him. Ervin was always faithful in getting others to come to hear the Good News of Salvation. I remember when we were getting a rented space ready to have a special series of Gospel meetings, we were down on our knees scrubbing the floor and Ervin said it was his 55th birthday. I thought then that he was so old, and I am so glad the Lord gave us many more years together. We will miss Ervin but we know we will see him in the Glory. Love to you all, The Picketts

I loved to see the camaraderie that Mom and Ervin shared through a friendship that spanned over eight decades. I remember the many years Ervin and Dad spent every Sunday afternoon visiting people in the VA Hospital and inmates in the Albuquerque Jail where they would share the message of

Ervin would always greet you with his lovely smile. During Sunday School, he would lead the singing with joy and enthusiasm. His care and compassion for others was continually evidenced and I so appreciated his many prayers through the years for my health.
I have special memories of some of the wonderful times our family shared with the Henderson family like Summer picnics in the Sandia mountains. Ervin always brought watermelons to share and no one could pick out a watermelon like Ervin. I remember his kind and generous hospitality and the times he took our whole family out to dinner and the great fried chicken and fish at Bella Vista in the Sandias. I remember that Ervin and Dorothy opened their home every Sunday evening for the sharing of the Gospel until we moved into the new Gospel Hall building. After the meeting, Dorothy had refreshments for everyone. I remember how Ervin always appreciated that Dorothy was such a great cook -- but the way his eyes twinkled when he would tease Dorothy was only a sign of his love for her. He knew that the Lord had blessed him with a special wife.
Words could never truly express the many blessings Ervin brought to our lives through the years. He was a special and treasured friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dorothy, Sam, Danny¸ Mary, Judy and Priscilla and your families. May our Lord comfort your hearts at this difficult time.

Mr.and Mrs. Henderson were always so welcoming and generous.I remember many visits to La Hacienda where they would take such a large group! I remember wide smiles and peace and abundance. Every time I look at the house on La Sombra, I think of the happy hours I spent with the family. Mr. Henderson walked the walk and now is home at last. What a great example he was to the family he raised.. May he rest in peace and tranquility. My heartfelt sympathy for all the family.
