Ervin Henderson, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Born in Meridian, Mississippi, his family moved to New Mexico when Ervin was 12. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and married Dororthy Norris the same night she graduated from high school. He worked on the Santa Fe railroad for 13 years before going into the Navy in 1944. He served his country during World War II as a Fireman 1st Class. He owned and operated Henderson Freight Service for 32 years. After selling his business and retiring, he and Dorothy moved to the Town of Cochiti Lake where they lived for 16 years. Ervin enjoyed fishing and boating with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 68 years; son, Sam Henderson and wife, Terrie; son, Danny Henderson and wife, Mary; daughter, Mary Rankin and husband Dale; daughter, Judy Mangione and husband, Larry; daughter, Priscilla Fiddler and husband, Jim; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 at French - University Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
