Essie Delovia Riddle, 77, of 102 Hartwell Court, passed away December 16, 2011 at Baptist Easley Hospital.

Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Brack and Daniel Love Rochester Wood.

Essie retired from Ryobi and was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are her husband, Johnny A. Riddle; her children, David Merck; Roy Merck; Rick (Lisa) Merck; Randy (Linda) Merck; Shelia (Danny) Mathis; Mary (Jimmy) Ramey; and Jan (Billy) Sutherland; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and her sisters, Ann (Jim) Lang; Edna Reece; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Lee Merck; and her siblings, Faith Wood; Roy Wood; James Wood; Ina Hudson; and Sally Carver.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3:30pm in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2 – 3:15pm at the funeral home.
