Estelle A. Richmond, age 91, a lifelong resident of Dunmore and most recently of New Cumberland, died Wednesday morning at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Richmond, on November 27, 1977. Born in Dunmore on August 9, 1920, daughter of the late Edward and Stella Vanston May, Estelle attended Marywood Seminary High School before graduating from the former Powell Business School. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a longtime member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Dunmore. An avid reader, she was also previously active in her neighborhood's card club and in the Scranton Senior Citizens. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she will be dearly missed. She is survived by four children, Thomas Richmond and wife Maureen of Kettering, Ohio, Jerry Richmond, Sr., and wife Margaret of Waynesville, North Carolina, Shirley Oleski and husband Jack with whom she resided in New Cumberland, and Donna Jennings and husband Bill of Dayton; ten grandchildren, Brian and Jerry Richmond, Jr., Melissa Hathaway, John Oleski, Liz Fink, Jennifer Mangold, Nicole Peterman, Stephen, Austen and Tessa Jennings; and twelve great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Ida May McCann and Genevieve Higgins, also preceded her in death. Funeral services will begin on Saturday at 1:30PM from the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, West Scranton, with a 2:00PM Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street in West Scranton, to be celebrated by Very Rev. Martin M. Boylan, Pastor. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from noon until 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Estelle's name to the American Cancer Society (712 South Keyser Avenue, Taylor, 18517).
