Ethel Lewis Houck

Ethel Lewis Houck of Beckley passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Born in Jefferson County, NC on February 25, 1919, she was a resident of Raleigh County for 30 years moving from Wyoming County.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her garden. She attended the Skelton Freewill Baptist Church and was member of The Ladies Christian Fellowship Group.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Wade H. Houck; her parents, sister Cary and brothers Woodrow and Frank; children Louise, Bill, Port, Connie, Lena, Bud and Jim.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Lanny Houck and wife Donna; daughter-in-law, Betty Houck; grandchildren Tom, Kilroy, Susie, Wink, Denny, Cathy, Kris, Connie, Terri, Jimmy, Shane and their families. She was very blessed to have a large extended family and wonderful neighbors and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2011 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Princeton.
Friends may gather with the family Friday from 10 – 11 AM at the funeral home.
