Mrs. Etta G. Smith

Etta G. Smith age 92 of Dallas, Texas passed away October 8, 2011. Born to Moses and Novella Hamilton on July 28, 1919 in Alto, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age at Saint Thomas A.M.E. Chapel in Alto, Texas. Etta graduated from Alto High School then moved to Dallas as a young adult where she was an active member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church. She was the wife of Willie Perry. She had six children and later married J.B. Smith. Both preceded her in death.

The loving wife and mother encouraged all to keep God first in their lives. She was an entrepreneur until her retirement. As an avid community leader, she was an active volunteer at the Salvation Army for more than 25 years. Her life achievements included being the First Lady of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, becoming a Mason and following into he footsteps of her mother becoming member of the Eastern Star Lodge and Heroines of Jericho.

She leaves to cherish her memories six children, Charlesetta Perry, Ellis Perry (Betty), Tracie Perry (Trudy), Elresia Perry Kirkpatrick (Ray), Faye Perry Smith (Larry), Rhenee Perry; one sister-in-law, Pauline Hamilton; 24 grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
