Etta Juanita "Nita" Phifer, 77, born December 18, 1934, in Lovelady, Texas, died January 4, 2012, in Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Clifton Lowrey, her mother, Dessa Evelue Graham, her husband, Wade Arnold Phifer, and brother, Nolan Wayne Lowrey.
She is survived by her 3 children, Michelle Hendon, of Austin, Texas, Tina Phifer, of Austin, Texas, and Terry Phifer, of Liberty Hill; three grandchildren, Sierra Pilgrim, of Austin, Texas, Peyton Phifer, of Liberty Hill, and Dalton Phifer, of Liberty, Hill. She is also survived by her brother, Dean Lowrey of Goodrich, Texas.
Our mom, mema, and mimi lived in Austin since 1963. She volunteered at the Next-to-New Shop for over 15 years. She will be missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in Bethel Hall at St. David's Episcopal Church, 301 E. 8th Street. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
