Etta M. Mayo-Rooks, the daughter of Mont and Mary Mayo came into this life on September 1, 1931 in Bracey, Virginia. On January 23, 2012 at the age of 80 God reunited her with her parents and her brothers, Algie, Fred, Lloyd and Leroy. After moving to New York City as a young adult, Etta's life changed forever when she met a young marine named Warren H. Rooks. They were married on October 22, 1955 and shared a special love that lasted 56 years. From this union she was blessed with two children, Warren H. Rooks, Jr. and Stephanie L. Rooks. Etta was a devoted, loving and caring Wife, Mother, Sister, Auntie, Grandmother and friend. She leaves to cherish her fond memory, her husband, Warren H. Rooks, Sr. of Albuquerque; one son, Warren H. Rooks, Jr. of Henderson, NV; one daughter, Stephanie Rooks-Williams of Albuquerque, NM; one brother, Milton Mayo of South Hill, VA; one grandson, Jonathan T. Williams; one granddaughter, Sierra N. Rooks; and a host of cherished relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012, 2:00 p.m., at French - Lomas Chapel.
