Eugene “Gene” Leon Gibson, 82, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011. He was born in Brawley, California on May 25, 1928, to James and Pauline Gibson. He was proud to have served in the US Navy for 21 years. He loved gardening and wood working. He was also an active member of the Santa Clara Parish. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Billie; daughters, Mary Remijan, Teresa Gann, Gina Gibson; step-daughters, Diane Shada(Dan),Bonnie Williams (Bill); step-son, John Slack (Tammy); sister, Alma Stiff; brothers Cecil Gibson, Ronald “Butch” Gibson, Joe Gibson. Gene had 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He will be missed greatly by family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, May 9, at Santa Clara Mortuary-Oratory, 2370 North H Street, Oxnard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences and memories may be sent to the Gibson family at www.santaclaramortuary.com
