Eva B. Derkosh, 91, a resident of Mifflin Court, Shillington, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Andrew Derkosh; a son, Andrew David; and a great grandchild. Surviving are daughter Barbara, wife of Russ Scaramastra of Wyomissing, PA; four grandchildren, Matthew Scaramastra of Syracuse, NY, Allana Scaramastra of Sinking Spring, PA, Jason Derkosh of Pittsburgh, PA and Janel Derkosh of Mansfield, CT; and seven great grandchildren. Formerly of New Ringgold, PA, Eva lived in Quakertown, PA and Coopersburg, PA before moving into assisted living at Mifflin Court where she resided for the past 5 years. Eva was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Quakertown. Eva was especially proud of her upbringing as one of nine children on a self-sufficient farm. Her memories and the stories she told were always about hard work and fun times that went with that life. She enjoyed preparing many of the ethnic foods of Czechoslovakia from where her family emigrated. Eva loved spending time with her family especially the children and will always be remembered for her gentle spirit and warm smile. She will be deeply missed. Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 26 at Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA with Michael Sullivan, M.Div. officiating. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, PA will follow. Call 10-11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
