Evadean H. Mattison passed away at Mercy Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006. She was 78. She was born April 3, 1927 in Cadillac to Raymond and Lillian (Grove) Williams. She graduated from Cadillac High School in the Class of 1945. On June 2, 1946, she married Morris 'Bud' Mattison at the United Methodist Church in Cadillac. He preceded her in death in 1956. Mrs. Mattison and her husband Bud owned and operated Mattison Market on North Mitchell Street. She was employed at Consumers Power Company, and retired in 1981 from Michigan Bell after 21 years of service. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Cadillac for over 64 years and served on several committees, sang in the choir for 60 years, and was a member of the Dorcas Circle. She will always be loved by her family and many many friends. Survivors include her daughters, Dalene (Mike) Wilkinson of Cadillac, Julie (Gerry) Vanderheide of Cadillac; grandchildren, Todd Wilkinson of Traverse City, Jim (Elisabetta) Wilkinson of Lexington, KY, Brent (Wendy) Vanderheide of Streetsboro, OH, David (Ryann) Vanderheide of Kalamazoo; and three great grandchildren, Kayla Lutke, Ben Vanderheide and John Vanderheide. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bud. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Cadillac with Rev. Dale Ostema and parish assistant Judy Coffey officiating. Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday at Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home in Cadillac. Memorials may be made to Cadillac United Methodist Church.
