He was a good man!

Wayne Edwards passed away December 25, 2010.

Wayne was born at home August 14, 1922 to William Edwards and Mary Ellen Thomas Edwards in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from West High School in June 1940.

Wayne served in the US Army in North Africa and Italy with the 88th Infantry Division from November 1942 – November 1945. He worked for Utah Power and Light for 37 ½ years where he was known as “Lum.”

He married Kathleen Charles Edwards, March 1, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wayne enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, card games, horse races, classical music and theater.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond, Cliff and Bill; sisters, Florence (Russ) Tyler, Ida (Art) Andersen, Evelyn (Dick) Higgins, Erma Edwards, Marion (Syd) Huish, Lucille (Paul) Slotte, and Edith (Max) Wilkinson.

Survived by his wife, Kathleen; sister-in-laws, June Edwards, Shirley Baker, Karen Hamm, Linda Swartz, Deanna (Danny) Linares and Mary Charles; brother-in-law, Dick Charles and many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews to whom he was very devoted.

Special thank you to Dr. Susan L. Edwards for years of exceptional care which extended his life by sixteen years. Thank you to Millcreek Home Health and Hospice for making his last days comfortable at home.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 29th, 10:30 a.m. at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 So., Murray. Viewings will be held Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Dr. and Wednesday from 9 – 10 a.m. at the mortuary.
