Eve Laverne Thompson of Little Rock, went to be with her Lord October 29, 2011. Laverne had a strong faith in God, and was a courageous, kind, generous, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She always made certain that people she loved knew it and had what they needed, if not more. She retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, but her chief occupation was serving as mother, homemaker, caregiver, and friend. She was an excellent cook, and never failed to extend welcome arms to her table for family and friends. The memory of her laughter and sense of humor will reside forever in all who loved her.
Laverne was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Thompson, her parents ,Everett and Laura Bostick; and her brother, L.E. Bostick, Jr. She is survived by her son, Stanley Thompson; daughter, Pam Harshfield, and her husband Dan Harshfield; her grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, and Michelle Harshfield. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends.
A memorial service celebrating Laverne's life will be held at 11:00 AM on November 3, 2011, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street in Little Rock.
