Evelyn I. Zornes, 90, of Ironton, passed away Sunday (July 29, 2007) at her residence. The Pollard, Kentucky native was born January 8, 1917, the daughter of the late J.D. and Mary Suiter Williams. She was the widow of James Zornes, who died February 4, 1984.
Mrs. Zornes was a 1935 graduate of Coal Grove High School. She ran the trimming machine at Henrites and retired in 1960 after 25 years of service there. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church for over 53 years and lived in Lawrence County, Ohio since 6 months of age.

She is survived by:
a niece: Carlos Jane Pyles of Grove City, Ohio
several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday (August 1, 2007) at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, Ohio with Dr. Kevin Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, Kentucky 41101.
