Evelyn Amelia Rude Bufford of Taylors died November 23, 2011.
Born on July 23, 1920, in Gary, MN, she was the daughter of Clara and Alfred Rude.
She met John Bufford, her late husband, in California where they married. They moved east, served with two missions, and eventually settled and retired in Greenville, SC. Evelyn was faithful wife, industrious mother and gifted teacher. Her love for learning and reading was passed on to her nine children, all of whom pursued college degrees and professional careers. She helped start a program for disabled children and served in children's ministries in her churches. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Dottie (Steve) Buckley, and eight sons, Samuel (Julie), Rodger (Kathleen), Paul (Trudy), Harold (Sharon), David (Judy), Peter (Norma), Tommy (Tracey), and Danny (Jennifer) Bufford. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 2 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary with Rev Tony Miller and Rev Steven Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
