FLORENCE LYDIA KELLY Florence Kelly, age 95, passed away on December 10, 2011 in Vancouver. She was born July 23, 1916 in Astoria, OR and graduated from Astoria High School in 1934. She lived and worked in Astoria until her retirement as Supervisor at Bumble Bee Seafood. Florence married Norval "Red" Lindberg in 1937 until his death in January 1970. They worked side by side to design and build their dream home in Astoria. They enjoyed traveling around the United States and Mexico as well as frequent trips to Portland and Vancouver, BC to enjoy the Arts. They were active members of various service organizations including the Astoria Lions Club where she served as secretary. In September 1970 she married James H. Kelly. They lived in Astoria and spent many winters at their home in Cathedral City, California. They traveled around the world and enjoyed spending time with close friends and family until his death in 1997. She moved to Vancouver, WA in 2009 to be closer to family. Florence took great pride in her home and garden. She was an accomplished artist in both oil and water colors. She spent her life learning new things and did everything to perfection. She enjoyed cake decorating, interior design, flower arranging, art of Bonsai, and investing in the stock market. She was an excellent cook and spent a lifetime collecting and trying new recipes. She was preceded in death by six brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her niece, Louise Dunn of Vancouver, WA, nephews, Ed (Jayne) Salsberry of Camas, WA, Glenn (Gail) Salsberry of Astoria, OR, Roy Salsberry of Tacoma, WA, Dale (Kathy) Salsberry of Astoria, OR, Fred (Betty) Parhaniemi of Renton, WA, Rudy (Colleen) Parhaniemi of Whidbey Island, WA, and Robert Parhaniemi, of Renton, WA. Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17th at 1 PM at the home of Ed and Jayne Salsberry in Camas.
