KENNEDY - Florence O. Kennedy (AKA "GaGa"), age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2012 after a short illness. She was born in Downers Grove, IL to her parents William James and Florence Maloney O'Niel on Sept 26, 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kennedy, and her sons, Jay and Billy Kennedy. She is survived by her daughter, Muffin and husband John Menicucci, their children and grandchildren; John Jr. and wife Betsy, their children Sadie, Teagan, and John Americo Menicucci III "Jack" born 1/26/12, all of Omaha; Janea Menicucci, her daughter Leeann; Joseph Menicucci; Jason and wife Shaina Menicucci, their children Riley and Owen Jack (of Townsend MA). Florence is also survived by her daughter Pinkie and husband Greg Neff and their children and grandchildren; Paula and husband Dann Jernigan, their children Seth and Ian; Tricia and husband Jacob Sena, their children Miguel and Jacob; Kim Neff; and Stephen Jack Neff. She is also survived by her grandson Jay Kennedy and wife Lisa of Jackson, MO; daughter-in-law Mary Blake of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law Dorothy Farley of Chicago, brother-in-law George Schoenfeld of Florida; sister Doris and husband Glen Merker of Naperville, IL, and many nieces and nephews of the Illinois area. Jack's jobs took them from Illinois to New York, Denver, and finally to Albuquerque where they raised their family. She and Jack were one of the families that left Regina Coeli to Queen of Heaven and helped found Our Lady of Annunciation Parish. She was an active member of the Brothers of Good Shepherd, Casa Angelica, Serra Club, Annunciation Women's Guild and Bridge Group. She also played with LLV Overlook bridge, and Church of the Risen Savior bridge group. Florence was an avid sports fan listening to her last game of the Super bowl. She wanted the Giants to win, holding it against Brady that he played for Michigan and not Notre Dame. Just after Christmas she took her last trip to Omaha to see all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her God, Faith and Family have always been a source of life for her. Being Irish played a big part of her life. May your blessings be many, the sun shine above you, your life bring you gladness, and always--God Bless you. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Pallbearers will be George Andresen, Marc and Joseph Cito, Dwight Cole, Max, Sr. and Max Jr. Dominguez, Mike Shook and Brinnon Scott. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 9, 2012, 7:00 p.m., at French - Wyoming Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady Of Annunciation Church, 2621 Vermont NE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Those who wish to make a memorial contribution may give to the Good Shepherd Center, P.O. Box 749, Albuquerque, NM 87103.
