Frances Elynor Wolfe Ellis quietly passed away on February 5, 2012 at her home in Metairie. A native of Girard, Al.(born July 25, 1930) Elynor lived most of her life in New Orleans, growing up in Uptown and later residing in Lakeview until Hurricane Katrina took her home. Elynor was preceded in death by her parents Estelle Maude Wolfe and Dr. Horace Milton Wolfe and her brother Horace Milton Wolfe, Jr. Beloved mother of 4 daughters, Brenda Macaluso (Kevin), Suzanne Ellis, Karyn Kienitz (Kurt), and Cynthia D'Arcangelis ( Gabe), and "Gran" to Anthony, Lauren, and Michael Macaluso, Jessica and Elizabeth Meyer and Ross Browning, her loving grandchildren. Elynor dedicated her life taking care of her 4 girls and later her mother. Elynor was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She loved New Orleans and all of its allure and passed her time reading about New Orleans, its history and painted scenes of the city she loved. She was an avid Saints and LSU fan, rarely missing a football game. A retired educator for Jefferson Parish Schools, Elynor taught many years at Phoebe Hearst Elementary School where she coached the students competing in academic games to success at the state level for many years. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity preferred.
