Frances Eugenia Stapler
May 3, 1925 – Feb. 24, 2011
Frances Eugenia Garrett Stapler passed away Feb. 24th after a lengthy Alzheimers illness.She was born in Oxford, Al. in 1925 and attended Oxford High School and later went to work in Anniston, Al. where she met Val Stapler. They were married in 1947 and moved to Huntsville in 1956. Frances and Val were happily married for 63 years and very devoted to one another. She was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. Frances was a member of the Mastin Lake Road Church of Christ, attending the congregation for 48 years.She is preceded in death by her parents William K. and Annie E. Garrett, and her brothers Boots, John and Tommy Garrett.Frances is survived by her husband Val Stapler, daughter Tanya Alexander and husband Eddie Alexander and her son Shawn Stapler and wife Belinda Stapler and three grandchildren, Chase Stapler, Andrea Alexander and Wes Alexander and wife Christine.She is also survived by a sister, Faye Vinson and niece Karla Vinson Aber.Visitation will be Sat., Feb. 26th from 11am until 2pm at Valhalla Funeral Home, followed by a private family service with entombment to follow. Her minister Scotty Sparks will be officiating.In her honor, donations may be made to The North Alabama Alzheimers Association.The family is especially grateful to the staff at Brookshire Health Care Center for their loving care during her illness.
