Benson, VT- Frances G. Draper, 90, formerly of Draper Lane in Brattleboro died Friday afternoon, December 2, 2011 at her home in Benson following an extended illness. Mrs. Draper was born in St Albans, Vermont on June 24, 1921 the daughter of Edward and Lucinda (Robinson) George. She was raised and educated in Fletcher, Vermont and was a graduate of Bellows Free Academy, Class of 1940. She later attended a business school in Burlington and in 1974 earned her L.P.N. from the Thompson School for Practical Nursing in Brattleboro. She had been employed as a nurse at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital working on the med-surgical floor retiring from BMH in 1983. On a part-time basis she worked for Northeast Medical Co. performing physical exams for the agency. A devout Catholic she was a communicant of Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Brattleboro for 40 years. Of her pastimes and interests she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing, gardening and reading. On October 18, 1940 at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in East Fairfield, Vermont she was married to Robert F. Draper who predeceased her in October of 1998. Survivors include two sons, Robert Draper, Jr. of Benson with whom she made her home, Lawrence Draper of Brattleboro, one sister, Elizabeth Morgan of Elyria, Ohio, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Glenna Cassell, Barbara DeMag and Edith Ball, and a brother Charles George. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Richard O'Donnell, V.F. pastor, celebrant. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Parish Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M.
