East Lyme - Frances M. Harris, 75, died unexpectedly June 23, 2009.Fran was a loving wife and mother and was predeceased by her husband, H. Norris Harris Jr.She is survived by her sister, Anne Mosier of Worcester, Mass.; daughter, Deborah Baldwin and spouse, Robert; son, James Harris and partner, Bob Craig, son, Peter Harris and spouse, Jean Schaefer; grandchildren, Samantha and Seth Baldwin and Elizabeth Harris. Fran was born and raised in Worcester, Mass. where she was active in sports including basketball and field hockey. She has lived in Niantic the last 43 years where she has been active in league bowling, playing bridge, and regular outings with her friends. She has remained an avid sports fan, especially women's basketball.Her family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 17, at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons funeral home, 48 Grand St., Niantic followed by a funeral service at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, at the Niantic Community Church, 170 Pennsylvania Ave., Niantic, with a reception afterwards.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Connecticut Public TV, 1049 Asylum Ave., Hartford, CT 06105.
