Funeral service for Frances Hohenecker, 87, Aberdeen will be 10:30 am, Saturday, February 4, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Aberdeen. Dr. Harold E. Salem will officiate. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery in Herreid, SD at 3:00 pm, Saturday. Frances died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

Visitation will be from 1:00-7:00 pm, with family present from 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, February 3 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main Street, Aberdeen.

Frances Pauline Ackerman was born on October 18, 1924 at Hague, ND to George and Elizabeth (Brockel) Ackerman. This is the area where she grew up and attended school. On January 26, 1943 she married Simon Moser, Jr. at Eureka, SD. They made their home on a farm near Pollock, SD. Simon died on September 7, 1967 and she continued to live on the farm and later moved to Aberdeen. On August 12, 1978 she married Bill Hohenecker at Aberdeen. Frances worked for Americana Nursing Home, Bethesda Home of Aberdeen and was a caretaker for people in their homes. She also worked for North West Fabric for several years. Bill died on March 8, 1993. She moved to the Bethesda Home in 2010.

Frances was a member of First Baptist Church, Aberdeen. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, hunting and fishing. She really loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared Frances' life are her children, Rodney (Sandy) Moser, Mobridge, Mavis (Jack) Heyd, Aberdeen, Don (Debra) Moser, Aberdeen, Dave (Jean) Moser, Aberdeen, grandchildren, Chad (Jazz) Moser, Tate (Cindy) Moser, Debby (Dan) Johnson, Michelle (Mark) Gierach, Jackie ( Michael) Martin, Kim Moser, Deon (Milissa) Moser, Michael Marsh and Justin Moser, Azure (Micheal) Smith and Ivori Moser, great grandchildren, Racheal, Joshua, Kaylee, Kasandra, Kamyren, Kaden, Grace, Rhett, Ethan, Jonathan, Anthony, Jacob and Anna.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth Ackerman, husbands, Simon Moser and Bill Hohenecker, son, LeRoy Moser, sisters, Eva Iszler and Lizzy Ackerman, brothers, Johnny (Martha) Ackerman, Hank (Alma) Ackerman, Reuben (Viola) Ackerman and Bob (Mamie) Ackerman.
