Middlesex: Francis G. "Frank" Mooney II, age 57, of Haggerty Rd. passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patricia A. Mooney; son, Francis George Mooney III; daughter, Rose (Adam J.) Chase; two grandchildren, Trysten and Briana; three sisters, Roxanne (Richard) Condgon, Bea (Paul) Hoffmen, and RoseAnne Caye; two aunts, Marty and Shirley Joslin; uncle, George "Buddy" (Rebecca) Joslin; extended family members, Leonard, Leslie, Lorraine, Lori, and Larry Sexton. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis George Mooney, Sr. in 2003 and Rose Mooney in 2009. Frank was born and raised in Utica. He served with the US Navy from 1974-1979 including two tours of the Mediterranean. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7414, Canandaigua and often volunteered along with other post members at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua. He and his fellow post members also volunteered at Veterans Outreach in Rochester. They held Halloween and Christmas parties for children in the Canandaigua community. Frank was a Quartermaster for the VFW County Council & District. He was employed as an electrician at Caruso Electric in Rochester for 25 years. Frank's family would like to extend special thanks to the ICU unit at Strong Memorial Hospital and Monroe Ambulance for fulfilling his wishes. Friends may call tomorrow (Monday) from 5-8 pm at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. A VFW service will immediately follow the calling hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW, Post 7414 Ladies Auxiliary to be used for their cancer program, c/o VFW, 93 South Main St., Canandaigua, NY 14424.
