CHAVEZ - Frank Herrera Chavez, born January 1, 1935, passed away at his Albuquerque home and went to be with our Lord on March 22, 2011. He touched countless lives with his wisdom, wit, and kindness in his 76 years on this earth. He was dearly beloved and will be deeply missed by family and friends alike. Frank was a lifelong Albuquerque, NM resident who graduated from St. Mary's. For years he worked at ACF, and then at Sandia Laboratories. After retiring, Frank enjoyed spending time with his wife and large extended family, and was fond of frequenting local casinos where he had many friends. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Chavez; his sisters Emily Vigil and Rosie Moraga, and brother Tomas Chavez; his children, son Gerald and his wife Suzanne, son Michael, daughter Janice and her husband Dennis, son Mario and his wife Karen; his grandchildren, Michael and his wife Monica, Jeremy, Marcus, Nicholas, Jessica, Sean, and Miranda; his great grandchildren Serenity and Kyli; and so many other relatives who mourn his passing as well. Arrangements are under the direction of French Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Jude Thaddeus, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, on Saturday, March 26th at 10:00 a.m.
