Frank D. Baughman, 83, of Moline, died on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Frank was born on April 29, 1928 in Oskaloosa, IA to Frank and Vida (Martin) Baughman. He married Martha F. Conklin and she preceded him in death on February 26, 1988. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1949-1955 in Korea. He was discharged as Sergeant and received the Purple Heart for his service. Frank worked for the City of Rock Island, Herman Nelson, and then the Rock Island Arsenal from which he retired from after 26 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #200, VFW Post #1303, Masonic Lodge #57, and Scottish Rite of Moline. Frank loved all sports including fast pitch softball which he played for many years. He especially loved fishing and being outdoors with family and friends.
