Frank Kozlowski, Sr. Obituary


KOZLOWSKI, Frank, Sr., Frank Kozlowski, Sr., beloved husband of the late Frances W. (Weeks) Kozlowski, of South Windsor, died Monday (May 14, 2007) at home. Born in New Britain on October 10, 1919, son of the late Michael and Mary (Sowa) Kozlowski, he had lived in Hartford before moving to South Windsor 18 years ago. Before retiring, he was a rose gardener at Elizabeth Park, West Hartford, had been a union bartender and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is predeceased by his devoted wife of 59 wonderful years, who died on April 17. He leaves his children, Frank Kozlowski Jr., and wife, Christine of South Windsor, Mary Gordon and husband, Scott of Happy Valley, OR and Karen Charry and husband, John of South Windsor; three sisters, Ann Vardanian and husband, Dick of New Britain, Stella Christensen, of Bloomfield and late husband, Walter, and Olga Kozlowski of New Britain; three brothers, Rudolph Kozlowski and wife, Irene of Plainville, the late Michael Kozlowski and sister-in-law June of Farmington and the late Louis Kozlowski; six grandchildren, Dan and Joseph Kozlowski, Sara and Will Gordon and Michael and Stephen Charry; a great grandson, Philip Kozlowski; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held, Friday, 10 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Burial with military honors will follow in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. His family will receive friends, Thursday from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
