Frank R. Spinelli, 90, died on December 26, 2012. He was born on October 12, 1922 in Oneida, NY, a son of Joseph and Theresa (Rinaldo) Spinelli. He was a graduate of Oneida High School and a proud Veteran having served in the US Navy during the D-Day invasion, serving in the European Theater of Operations until September of 1945. On November 5, 1949 he married his high school sweetheart Barbara Collier, a loving and devoted marriage of 69 years. Together they raised four children. Following discharge from the service he returned home and subsequently attended Business School in Syracuse, thereafter working as an accountant in Carlton Shay firm in Oneida. After a couple of years he was offered an opportunity to join The Prudential and enjoyed a 32 year career with them in insurance. He was a member of the New Hartford First United Methodist Church, a former member of Utica Kiwanis Club, the Romeo Club and the church Men's Bowling League. A loving and devoted father, he is survived by his wife Barbara, his three daughters Judith (James) Morris, Austin, TX, Joanne (James) Jenners, Syracuse, NY, Sandra (James) St. John, Marcy, and a son Robert (Mary Patricia) Spinelli, Rochester, NY, He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Nicholas and Raymond, three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. The family wishes to express their deep and heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the staff of the Bryant Unit of the Katherine Luther Home for their loving care of Frank. The funeral will be Thursday January 3, at 10:30 AM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in Sherrill Kenwood Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours are on Wednesday Jan 2, from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider The Lutheran Care Facility, The Alzheimer's Association or the New Hartford United Methodist Church.
