Fred Allen, Jr., age 77, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011. He is survived by his daughters, Doris L. Romero and husband James, Terry Baca and husband, Lawrence, and Stephanie Padilla all of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and his sister, Doris Chapman of Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Allen. Fred worked for and retired from PNM. Mr. Allen was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also an active chicken-fighter for over 50 years. In his later years, he loved to do karaoke. Fred belonged to the Moose Lodge and also attended many of the American Legion Posts. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a very generous heart. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, at 10:00 a.m., at French – University Chapel. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 1100 Central Ave SE. Mr. Allen's family would like to give a special thanks to Pam Mares, Ginger Vary and David Romero.
