Fred E. Simmons, 93, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.VA. The Elk Falls, Kansas native was born January 21, 1918 the son of the late Charles Simmons and Lanetta Violet Smith Simmons.

Mr. Simmons a Retired MSGT from the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by: (in addition to his parents)
wife: Leila Vance Simmons
1 son: Robert Simmons
1 brother: Aden Simmons
1 sister: Rose Perkins

He is survived by:
daughter and son in law: Lana and Dave Savary of Ironton, OH.
daughter and son in law: Ida and Jeff Maddy of Chillicothe, OH.
son and daughter in law: Don and Karen Simmons of Ironton, OH.

Graveside service will be Wednesday (April 13, 2011) 10:00 AM in Woodland Cemetery, Sec. P with Pastor David Woods officiating. There will be no public visitation. Military graveside rites will be provided by V.F.W. Post #8850 of Ironton. The family requests donations be made to the Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, W.VA. 25709.
