For those who may not know me, I am the only daughter of Fred or as my dad would call me his 2nd son. My dad called me his 2nd son as I am extremely boisterous and bold. Yes, I am exactly like my dad.

For those who may not know me, I am the only daughter of Fred or as my dad would call me his 2nd son. My dad called me his 2nd son as I am extremely boisterous and bold. Yes, I am exactly like my dad.
My dad was my best friend as I was growing up.
My father was one of those hard working fathers that always got his way. To him, it wasn't "my way or the highway," it was "my way or my way." His words were the law in our house. I used to fear him but I never thought he was already teaching me one of the most valuable lessons in life, standing up for what you believe in. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. As I grew older, I slowly understood why he treated us like that.
At the same time, my father was also the type of person that always put others needs ahead of his own. It was of the utmost importance to him that those around him be happy and comfortable and of course full from his cooking before he gave his own comfort any thought.
Anyone who had the pleasure of visiting my parentals’ home can attest to the fact that you would be met with an abundance of food like his favorite steak. You can also testify that you weren’t going to get out there without DRINKING some sort of alcohol like Johnny Walker’s Double Black. Yes, My dad loved to entertain -he loved being in the presence of others.
Since my dad has passed, I have talked to so many of my dad’s friends and relatives which a lot of you are present today. And many have cried to me whilst telling me how he always seemed to find time to lend a hand and to reach out to someone who really needed it or just even send a thoughtful birthday card to them. He was an amazing father and husband. We knew we were always his priority, and he always managed to make us feel like the most important people in his world.
I am sad for all of the tomorrows in which he will not be an actively present, but that sadness is tempered with the belief that we will all be together again and that he is right now with his dad Alejandro and mom Carmen. Above all, he is in God’s warm and comforting embrace.
I look forward to that day when I will see my father again, but for now I will be satisfied with the many wonderful memories that I have of the most loving, caring man that I have ever known. I know the loss will be difficult to bear to days to come, but I find solace that he lived his life to the fullest, he passed peacefully, and most importantly he touched so many people’s lives including my own-his best friend. So long as I, so as long as you, so as long as we, keep his memory alive and I continue to lead my life with the values that my dad has instilled in me, then he is not dead. My dad is alive in all of us. So with that... Dad, it’s not good bye. It’s just see you later. ( I promise to take care of mom, Alex, Jerry, Sharon, and of course your favorite AJ). Dad, sleep warm. Sleep tight. Sleep well. I love you. Always have. Always will.

Many are mourning your passing all over the world, especially here in the city. I will always remember your booming voice and strong, vibrant presence. It's like c'mon, who didn't know LoLo for those who know your kids?
I will always remember how you'd look someone straight in the eye with your firm handshake or the way you made someone feel so welcome in your home. I won't forget how your eyes would light up whenever Alexander would toddle by
