Freda Mae Farley, 74, of the 1200 block of Club Point Rd., Chesapeake, VA, passed away January 10, 2012, in her home. A native of Ronda, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Ethel Herron. She was an active member of Messiah United Methodist Church, belonged to the Methodist Women for many years and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She lived for her granddaughters, had many friends and was well loved by everyone. She is survived by her husband, James Farley; her son, James K. Farley, Jr., wife Darlene of Chesapeake, VA; two granddaughters, Madison Gail and Jordan Kayla; three brothers, Barry Herron (Anne), Kerry Herron and Randy Herron (Kim), all of Dorothy, WV; and four nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Freddie. A visitation will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Messiah United Methodist Church. Rev. Ellen Comstock officiating. The burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held at the church following the graveside. In lieu of flowers donations made can be made to Messiah UMC. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
