FREDDIE FIELDS (Age 87) Peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 after a short illness, FREDDIE FIELDS of Chillum, MD. Born 1923 in Uniontown, AL. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer in WWII participating in campaigns in the European as well as the Pacific theaters. Attached to George Patten''s Third Army in 1944 he participated in the relief of Bastogne during the battle of the Bulge. He had a distinguished career working for the Navy department for 30 years retiring in 1982. An avid golfer he won many awards participating in armature tournaments around the country. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Edelin Coleman Fields and a sister Lucille Fields. He leaves to mourn his passing a son, Greig Coleman Fields of Largo, MD; a sister, Rebecca Evans of Birmingham, AL; one daughter-in-law, Tina Eileen Fields of Upper Marlboro, MD; granddaughters, Kimberly, Kari and Kandice Fields; nieces, Joann Barringer, Lynne Evans and Phyllis Harvell; nephews, Clyde Evans, Gettie Leonard Harvell, Jr. and Larry Barringer; great-nieces, Lynn Harvell, Tomika Harvell and Rhonda Harvell; great-nephwes, Alvin Evans, Ronnie Harvell and Caroll Harvell and a host of other relatives and friends. On Monday, October 4 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. friends may visit with the family at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 26 Grant Circle, NW where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Interment National Harmony Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in his name to Montgomery Hospice. Services by HUNT FUNERAL HOME.
