Frederick A. McLaughlin, 72, formerly of Morristown, NJ passed into the presence of his Lord on Monday, January 31, 2011. He attended Morristown High School graduating in 1957. Fred graduated from Northeastern University in Boston in 1961 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Fred was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers. Fred served as an Engineer Company Commander, 572nd Engineer Company (LE), Third Army at Fort Campbell, KY. In 1962 Fred married Lorna Swendsen of Westbrook, Maine. Fred was employed at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ as a mechanical engineer for over 40 years. Fred was a member of Mountain Ridge Bible Chapel in Berkeley Heights and served on the Board of Directors of HIS Camps Inc. for several years. Fred was a faithful servant of the Lord and will be missed by all who served the Lord together with him. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lorna McLaughlin; his daughter, Wendy Abdy and her husband Joseph of Scotch Plains, NJ; his sons, Timothy McLaughlin and his wife Dorothy of Mountainside, NJ; and Craig McLaughlin and his wife Kimberly of Hillsborough, NJ. He leaves 12 grandchildren.
