Frederick W. Larsen, age 79, of Moline, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Select Speciality Hospital, Davenport, IA.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330-13th Street, Moline. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Entombment is at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline.

Frederick was born November 30, 1932 in Moline, the son of Waldemar and Sine Jensen Larsen. He married Carol Marie Axel on December 23, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline.

Frederick was employed as a Superintendent at International Harvester/East Moline Works and later as a Systems Analyst for the United States Army, retiring on January 1, 2000. In his younger years, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, was very involved with coaching Dad's Club and YMCA Indian Guides. He enjoyed woodworking, pheasant hunting, fishing, and spending summers at Lake Geneva, WI. Frederick's greatest joy was watching his grandchildren in all their sporting events.
