Mr. Garry L. Rhone, 53, of 2116 Woodstock Road, Chambersburg, PA, died at 4:27 P.M., Monday, November 28, 2011, in his home. Born February 12, 1958 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Harriett G. (Recard) Scott of Chambersburg and the late John E. Rhone, Jr. He graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School and Franklin County Vo-Tech with the class of 1977. Garry was self-employed as a horse and trailer dealer for many years. He worked as a painter at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro from 1995-2000 and as a mechanic for RAM-Tech at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg from 2007-2009. He was a member of the Owls Club and Moose Lodge, both of Waynesboro. He was also a member of the AmVets #224 and Marine Corp of Chambersburg and American Legion Post #223, Shippensburg. Garry enjoyed the time spent with his two dogs and faithful companions, Morgan and Chip. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Heather N. Grooms of Shippensburg; his step-father, Edward Scott of Chambersburg; one sister, Brenda L. Rhone of Fayetteville; his longtime companion, Karen S. Smith of Chambersburg; one niece, Katie M. Rhone of Shippensburg; one great-niece, Marlee M. Reasner of Shippensburg; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Tike and Cindi Schriver, officiating. Burial will follow in Mont Alto Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.
