Gary W. Lipscomb, 41, passed away January 6, 2012 after a sudden illness. He is survived by his beloved mother Carol L. (Krause) Lipscomb and her fiancée' Warren Rogers and his brothers James W. and Ronald C. Lipscomb, Jr. His father Ronald C. Lipscomb passed away in 2006. Gary also leaves his aunt Deborah Augusto and her husband Paul and their sons Billy and Andrew and his uncle Gary Krause who resides in the Philippines. Gary was born April 9, 1970 in Tacoma Park, MD. His family moved to Grafton when he was 5 years old. He grew up in Grafton, attending school at Grafton High School where he graduated in 1988. Gary loved sports, playing youth hockey for the Grafton Lakers on a state championship team and then football at Grafton High School on 2 of their Superbowl teams. He was a devoted fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and the University of Nebraska football team. Gary took two memorable trips to watch the Cornhuskers play at their home field in Lincoln, NE and also against Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. He attended Becker College and then Worcester State College. Gary served with pride in the US Army after college. Those who knew Gary will remember that among many other things he was a proud patriot who loved his country. Most recently Gary worked for Sodexo at the Clark University kitchen. He loved his job and his talents as a chef were much admired by his family and friends. Gary will be missed for his fun-loving spirit and his quick wit. He loved movies and was always ready with a funny quote from one of his favorites that would keep everyone around him laughing. In lieu of flowers his family requests that you honor his memory with donations to support soldiers wounded in action to the Wounded Warrior Project online at www.WoundedWarriorProject.org or to The Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
