Geneva Shuffield, 81, of Huntsville, formerly of Hot Springs, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Huntsville. Born April 17, 1930 in Chidester, Arkansas to Elmer and Vera Ellett Snider, she worked for Dr. Stough for 17 years before going to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1984. She finished her career at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was predeceased by her husbands, J.T. Wood and Ray Shuffield; son Tony Wood; sister Audra Burgess; brothers Butch Snider and Little Elmer Snider.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kelly Wood of Huntsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Phillip Partain of Hot Springs and Debbie and Freddie Dickson, of Lonsdale; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Aletha Stovall and Juvan Clopton, both of Hot Springs and Janie and Loyl Black of Little Rock; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Helen Robertson of Mt. Ida; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Gross Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy Dale Johnson and Brother Kenneth Dean Prince officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Partain, Joe Partain, Matt Dickson, Luke Dickson and Jon Wood. Burial will be in Mountain Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 Wednesday at Gross Funeral Home.
