Genevieve Ryberg Tedeschi completed her journey to heaven on January 20, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, Lake Superior Hospice, and the caring staff at Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette. Genevieve was born in Spalding Township, daughter of Samuel and Mary Grondine in 1927. She married Clarence Ryberg and they had two children. They lived in Kingsford until his death in 1966. In 1969 she married Rudy Tedeschi and moved to Iron Mountain where she became loving step-mother to Rudy's three children. She worked at several local businesses, retiring from a security position at the Ford Airport. In 2008 she moved to Marquette and lived at Snowberry Heights where she made many new friends. Gen was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her brother, Willard Grondine. She is survived by her two sisters, Dorothy Simonic and Lavona Revall, her five children: daughter Ragene (Bill) Henry, and five sons, Richard (Bonnie) Ryberg all of Marquette, Rudy J. (Christine) Tedeschi, Robert Tedeschi, and David Tedeschi all of Iron Mountain. She was especially proud of her 9 grandchildren: Chad, Ryan, Staci, Dan, Kristen, Tracie, Mary, Eric, and Adam. She has 5 beautiful great-grandchildren. Gen will be remembered by her family and friends as a very talented person. She created many beautiful hand sewn quilts, hundreds of intricate woven baskets, and thousands of delicious and memorable meals. She shared her talents by teaching many others to quilt, make baskets, and cook. A memorial service celebrating Gen's life will be held at a later date. The Canale-Tonella Funeral Home in Marquette is assisting the family. Condolences may be expressed at www.canalefuneral.com
